Altering The Birth Blue Print

Alleviation of Karma

Sound is the Source and Mother of all Creation.

"In the beginning was the Word."

We know from modern physics that the more subtle a substance is, the more profound its power. Consider the power of splitting an atom! Sound (or vibration impregnated with creative intelligence) is the first and most subtle element of creation and its power to transform the patterns of experience is enormous. Just think of the effects of sound on you. Notice the effect of a beautiful classical piece in contrast to a military march. Notice how sound and vibration has a strong effect on us!

There are certain sounds called "primodial sounds" or "mantras" that have the effect of changing consciousness and karma. Mantras can invoke the consciousnes that they represent. That is the principle of Centering Prayer and Mantra meditation. The thought of God invokes the inner presence of the Supreme Divinity. Very specific primordial mantra sounds can be used for our benefit in a formal ceremony called puja. The great contemporary eastern saint Ammachi wrote:

"A puja is a sacred ritual performed to keep us in harmony with the cosmic forces, thereby removing and overcoming the sorrows of life and bringing spiritual advancement. By doing a Puja, thoughts and vibrations of spiritual forces are created around us. These spiritual forces work to eliminate the negative forces in our life and help surround us with with a positive energy which can bring us peace of mind, material prosperity and enable us to more clearly touch the Divine, our true nature."

From your Spiritual Astrology Consultation I have pointed out certain areas of life in which the "karma" - or predisposition to experience something - could be somewhat alleviated by intense prayer, meditation, chanting or puja ceremony. Any area of life can be improved:

  • relationships
  • finances
  • career
  • spiritual growth
  • family harmony
  • health
  • longevity
  • inner peace

When I recommend a puja I almost always suggest that this sacred service be done by the purest and most dedicated monks available. To this end I recommend two wonderful sources for pujas.

  1. Pujas done by the priests dedicated to the work of Shirdi Sai Baba. This organization can be reached through Judy Tache at Stillpoint, 603-434-2264. Usually we recommend a series of 11 pujas of which the recommended donation is $51 per puja. These are done on successive Thursdays and they are very powerfully felt.
  2. The other organization that I recommend is Sri Ammachi and her pujas can be ordered through the web site www.ammachi.org. These pujas are considerably more expensive and still very much worth the cost. They have an excellent web site that explains a lot about the puja and the specific types.

If you have any questions, we are here to answer them for you. Please feel free to call Judy Tache on 603-434-2264 or send us an email at stillpoint@greatpeace.net

P.S. Someone once asked me whether doing a puja was "cheating?" I responded by saying that puja is similar to prayer, or to taking an herb for a sickness, or sleeping longer when you are tired, or any common sense tool available to us. If God has given us little ways to relieve the burdens, then out of appreciation ( and common sense) - use them!

If nothing else, spirituality is practicality!
